This section describes how to set up and use the optional Camera Control Laptop.
If you have purchased a Camera Control Laptop, you can run the CCA3 application for both video and camera control on the Camera Control Laptop. This system comes with a gamepad for camera control and offers a touch-screen for mission planning, UAV control, and camera control.
If you want to ground-test the setup and your DeltaQuad Pro #VIEW has a camera with a thermal sensor, make sure that the camera gets enough cooling through an air stream provided by a small USB fan or something similar.
To use the Camera Control Laptop you will need the following items:
The DeltaQuad Pro (The vehicle needs to be powered and a connection must be established with the DeltaQuad Controller.)
The DeltaQuad Controller
The ruggedized laptop that was provided with your DeltaQuad Pro
The gamepad
An internet connection for both, the DeltaQuad Controller and the Camera Control Laptop
You can use the Camera Control Laptop either locally or remotely. When using the laptop on-site, the DeltaQuad controller and the Camera Control Laptop should be connected to the same Wi-Fi network or hotspot.
Connect the gamepad to the laptop via the USB connection.
Do not connect the gamepad to the DeltaQuad Controller as this is not supported.
With the DeltaQuad Controller, the operator can control the camera with the left-sided joysticks as described in the manual section here.
Open and start up the Linux-based laptop.
You need to start up two applications: CCA3 and the Connection Manager.
You have three different options to establish a connection between the DeltaQuad Controller and the Camera Control Laptop:

The advantage of a VPN-based connection is that the Camera Control Laptop can be located in a different location than the DeltaQuad Controller. You can make use of the VPN-based connection anywhere in the world as long as there is an internet connection.
If you use the VPN-based connection for the first time you need to pair the DeltaQuad Controller with the Camera Control Laptop:
Turn on the DeltaQuad Controller.
Connect the DeltaQuad Controller to the Camera Control Laptop using the USB cable provided with the DeltaQuad Controller.
Turn on the Camera Control Laptop.
On the Camera Control Laptop open the Connection Manager and click on “Pair”.
A terminal window will open with instructions. Press “Enter” to continue.
